Occupational therapy helps people carry out everyday activities on their own again - getting dressed, cooking, writing, working, pursuing a hobby. We start where an injury, an illness or a limitation makes that difficult, and we practise your own goals rather than abstract movements.

Yes, occupational therapy is a benefit of mandatory basic health insurance, provided there is a medical prescription. Accident and disability insurance also cover the costs.

Yes, a medical prescription is mandatory. It can be issued by your GP or by a specialist. Without a prescription the treatment cannot be billed to your health insurer or to any other insurance.

Please bring your medical prescription form, insurance card, and any relevant reports or imaging such as ultrasound, X-rays or CT and MRI scans. Comfortable clothing is beneficial for motor exercises.

We begin with a personal conversation. Before the assessment we clarify your current needs (What do you find difficult in everyday life? Which activities matter most to you?). We then set the goals together and determine the next steps of the therapy.

You do not have to, but it pays off. What works during a session only becomes lasting through repetition in everyday life. So we agree together on what fits into your week. You will find exercise sheets to print out on this website.

That depends on the speciality and on the opening hours at which an appointment is possible for you. The online calendar on this website shows the free slots straight away. If nothing fits, get in touch - we will look for a solution with you.

Occupational therapy is billed directly to the responsible insurer (health, accident or disability insurance). Please note that any deductible, co-payment or additional aids are not covered. For precise questions about costs, please contact your insurer directly.

Please cancel in good time, at least 24 hours before the appointment. Appointments cancelled at short notice or missed have to be invoiced to you; the responsible insurer does not cover these costs.

Yes, if you cannot visit our practice for medical reasons, we also carry out home visits in Thalwil and the surrounding area on medical prescription.

The practice is at Zürcherstrasse 66 in Thalwil. We offer home visits in Thalwil and on the western shore of Lake Zurich: Oberrieden, Horgen, Rüschlikon, Kilchberg, Adliswil and Langnau am Albis.

Three: hand therapy and orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation and geriatrics. Each speciality has its own page with the details.

In German, French and English. This website is available in the same three languages.

Monday to Friday 08:00–12:00 and 13:00–18:00. The practice is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Therawil is not an emergency practice. In a medical emergency call 144. Outside our opening hours, please contact your GP or the medical on-call service for urgent health questions. We answer appointment enquiries on the next working day.
